On the morning of April 25, Hua Weiguo, the Party Secretary of the college, visited the Xiaozhuang Campus and chaired a meeting with faculty and students in the first-floor conference room of the Advanced Institute for Life and Health. The purpose was to gain an in-depth understanding of the Institute's Party building work, student safety management, and the academic and daily life of faculty and students. A total of 12 individuals attended the meeting, including Chai Renjie, Executive Dean of the Advanced Institute; Wu Xiaochun, Head of Student Affairs; faculty representatives Feng Siqian and Ma Ying; and student representatives. The meeting was moderated by Che Yuwei, Secretary of the Cell and Developmental Biology Party Branch.

Proactive Safety Inspection, Reinforcing Management Responsibility

Before the meeting, Secretary Hua Weiguo and his delegation conducted a site inspection of the Advanced Institute's laboratories to check the operation of equipment and the provision of fire safety facilities. Addressing issues such as fire safety hazards, he demanded rectification: "Safety management must focus on details, improve emergency response plans, and fortify the bottom line of safety."

Focusing on Party Building Leadership, Strengthening Theoretical Study

At the beginning of the meeting, Secretary Hua first led a study session on the spirit of the central government's eight-point decision, emphasizing that all faculty and student Party members must consistently promote the improvement of conduct with high standards and strict requirements, setting a personal example by integrating discipline awareness into their daily studies and work.

Following this, Wu Xiaochun, Head of Student Affairs, relayed the university's specific requirements for strengthening student safety management. She highlighted key issues including dormitory hygiene, electricity safety, vacation safety management, off-campus accommodation safety, and laboratory safety.

Subsequently, Che Yuwei reported on the overall Party building work at the Advanced Institute, covering aspects such as the organizational development of the Party branch and the implementation of Party Day activities.

Addressing Urgent Concerns, Jointly Seeking Solutions

Finally, the attending faculty and students engaged in a discussion focused on the practical difficulties at the Xiaozhuang Campus. Student representatives pointed out the lack of basic living facilities such as dormitories and a cafeteria, incomplete campus network coverage, and significant traffic safety risks in the surrounding area. They also noted that participation in academic lectures and cultural and sports activities was low due to the distance, and suggested establishing a regular coordination mechanism among student organizations to enhance the sense of belonging for faculty and students on the Xiaozhuang Campus.

Dean Chai Renjie and faculty representatives Feng Siqian and Ma Ying summarized and supplemented the issues. Wu Xiaochun, Head of Student Affairs, stated that the college would fully leverage its function of serving students, continue to address their developmental needs, provide mental health counseling, and ensure full support for activities. Secretary Hua emphasized the need to be guided by a "list of faculty and student needs" to articulate demands precisely and work collaboratively to solve problems related to the campus's infrastructure, safety management, and resource allocation.

This visit built a direct bridge for communication between the faculty and students of the Xiaozhuang Campus and the college's Party Committee. It reflected the Party Committee's pragmatic approach of engaging with the grassroots and serving faculty and students, laying a solid foundation for promoting the deep integration of Party building with professional work and enhancing the effectiveness of campus governance.
