This team has always been a happy and safe environment where I feel welcomed by the Coaches and fellow swimmers. I want everyone to experience what I do. Ralitza Kechelieva

Hello, my name is Rali. I was born in Sofia, Bulgaria and moved to Canada with my family when I was two years old. I began swimming at the young age of 3 with the Town of Milton and later became a competitive swimmer with the Tritons as soon as the team was founded. I have two older brothers named Vasil and Dimo who were also swimmers. I am currently in grade 12 at Milton District High School. Aside from school, I have a seasonal job at Rattlesnake Golf Course that I love since it keeps me active all throughout the summer. In the future, I hope to study at the University of McGill in Montreal to become a Radiologist or Pediatrician. As a coach, my goal is to ensure that each and every swimmer is able to reach their full potential and have a life changing experience with the Mighty Tritons, just like how I did. I have become passionate about the sport and I hope to pass this on to the swimmers.

Mateo Alvarez

Mateo has been swimming for 9 years and has 2 years of coaching experience. He’s a high school student who works hard to balance his own swimming, coaching and school. When I first joined the team I was looking for something to be passionate about and the Tritons truly helped me do so. The coaches have always helped me feel accepted, welcomed, and appreciated. I enjoy how the coaches have and continue to help me develop my knowledge on more than just swimming and I hope I am able to provide the same safe, happy environment to younger swimmers.

Zane Shapiro

This is Zane’s fifth year swimming with the Tritons and he is excited to be coaching again this season. Zane is also interested in fitness and regularly attends Reebok CrossFit Firepower, as a varsity athlete. He recently spent four weeks as a coach-in-training at Firepower Kids.

Thirandie Semage

Hello, my name is Thirandie. I have been swimming with the Mighty Tritons Aquatic Club for the last three years. I love swimming with the Tritons and I've had so many amazing experiences with the Tritons swimming family! When I was eight years old, I moved from Sri Lanka to Canada, and after a few years, I began to learn how to swim. At the very beginning, swimming was a difficult sport for me to get into and I wasn't sure it was for me. However, I then joined the Tritons and competitive swimming soon became a sport I became passionate about. The wonderful coaches and the positive environment have helped me to grow both as a swimmer and as an individual. My goal as a coach is to provide this same positive experience to younger members and help swimmers improve their swimming skills.
